Webflow Design for a Leadership Foundation
RFR Leadership Foundation Website Design and Build
Jesse needed a website to promote his community oriented leadership foundation in honor of his late brother. We worked together over a month time-frame to design and develop a Webflow website. It was important that the website told both his brother and the Foundation's story.
As well as the website needed to make it easy to promote events and accept donations so that they could fund college scholarships for future leaders.

The Robert Rodriguez Leadership Foundation provides academic scholarships, leadership development, and service based opportunities in order to empower future leaders in Ellis County, Texas.
The foundation is brand new, not having a website, logo, or branding before we began the project. We worked on all three - web design and development, logo, and branding - to help them launch the foundation before their 1st annual event.
Deliverables
- Design a website that is modern and clean.
- Develop a logo.
- Provide brand strategy, including selection of colors, typography, assets, and messaging.
- Write copy that coincides with the values, purpose, and direction of the foundation.
- Design and develop a website that is easy to update using Client First and CMS collections.
- Provide a method for scholarship applicants to submit their application through the website.

We met to collect requirements and strategize.
Most all website projects begin with a strategy meeting. This one was no different. Jesse and I met to discuss the foundation, it’s purpose, and what he hoped to accomplish. I asked a ton of questions and took even more notes. This initial conversation served as the foundation for the entire project.
Strategic copywriting based on market research.
The next step in the process was market research. I looked at how other foundations marketed themselves, laid out their website, and communicated their message. This research formed the basis for the copy I wrote for the website. We focused on three areas: academic scholarships, leadership development, and community involvement. As well as the overall vision to empower and mobilize future leaders.

Branding based on the main theme of leadership development.
We worked together to develop a simple logo for the brand. As well as we pulled together colors and typography. Colors were chosen based on the overall theme of the website, which is leadership.
Dark blue was chosen as the primary color and yellow as the secondary color used mainly for the buttons to bring attention to the call to actions.
Libre Baskerville serves as the heading font, and inter for the body text. Libre Baskerville evokes leadership qualities and inter is highly readable. Both pair well together.
Design based on market research, copy and branding strategy.
An initial website design was created based on the copy, market research, and brand strategy. The initial design pulled all these elements together into a cohesive whole to tell the story of the foundation in order to attract applicants and donors who want to be involved in developing future leaders, either by investing time or financial resources.
We spent several sessions refining the design until the final aesthetic emerged. One that not only looks clean and modern, but also serves to tell the foundations story.

Two days of development in Webflow and the website was ready.
The website build went quickly. Harnessing the power and capabilities of Webflow, I was able to build the entire site over a two day period. It is was important we build the site quickly. When community members caught wind of the foundations purpose, they were eager to learn more and donate to the cause.
