Project Scope

View Website

Anna's Bake Sale Foundation is a 7 year old foundation that raises money for Childhood Cancer Research. What started as a small bake sale has grown into a community event that is supported by numerous local businesses and individuals.

Frustration had reach an all time high with their old website. Their eCommerce store didn't function well, updates were tedious, and maintaining all their Wordpress plugins was time consuming.

They contacted me to provide a fresh new design on a platform that was easy to use and update. We opted to use Webflow. It is easy for clients to maintain and their eCommerce features are powerful.

Deliverables

  • Clean updated and modern design for a foundation using their existing color palette.
  • eCommerce store that functioned well and was easy to maintain.
  • Ability to update items on the website using CMS collections.
  • Transfer over current news articles, redesign the look, and add more functionality.
  • Update the look and functionality of the photo gallery pages.
  • Timeline of three weeks or less for the entire project (redesign, build, and launch).

We migrated and redesigned for ease of use and conversions.

Anna's Bake Sale Foundation's old site was outdated and did not function correctly. The eCommerce store was a major pain point. Items were duplicated and did not display correctly. Inventory count was off and there was no way to track inventory in a consistent manner.

They were tired of running over to the warehouse to check stock. They needed a new solution that would allow them to track inventory and fulfill orders without the headache WooCommerce provided.

A new site needs a fresh design.

We opted for a clean and modern design that would easily showcase information about their foundation.

We worked within their existing color palette but used the 60-30-10 rule so as to create consistency. We also used typographical hierarchy to mark off distinct section of content and to direct the eye, especially in text heavy pages such as the About Us Page.

We also used custom imagery throughout, showcasing the fundraising events and items they sell in their eCommerce store.

Everything was designed approved in Figma first before developing in Webflow.

We setup a frustration free eCommerce store

It was important that the eCommerce store be fully functional and easy to use for both the organization and the end-user.

We opted to use Webflow's native eCommerce store for this build. It provided a seamless solution, allowing us to design the product pages to the client's specifications. As well as it allowed us to control the look and feel of the check out experience.

For the client, it gives them the opportunity to easily update their products and manage inventory, all of which were major pressure points with their past eCommerce solution.

We highlighted their news articles & events.

It was important we showcase the organizations news coverage. We opted to do this in a more visual way, using a card based design, summary text, and specific calls to actions (read, listen, watch).

We also transferred over their past galleries and built a CMS collection for the photo galleries on the new site. Moving forward it will be easy to update and add new events and pictures. The pictures themselves on the gallery page are built within a light box so that they can be viewed in large format on the screen.

CMS Collections not only save time but money.

It was important to keep cost down and changes easy so that the organization could give as much money back to Childhood Cancer Research as possible.

CMS collections were used throughout the website build, making the website easy for the client to update without having to call a developer every time they wanted to change something.

We can deliver on most any timeline with enough coffee.

The timeline for the project was tight. They were already selling items for their September event as well as raising awareness. Before things ramped up, they wanted the new website finished and fully functional.

A timeline of 3 week or less was given. I can proudly say we completed the project 1 week early. Total time for design, development, testing, and launch was 10 business days.
